I found a workbench I would like to reproduce for my garage/ place of woodworking. But I was told by this site I needed 5 postings before I could contact the person who made the bench. Could anyone help? It is the bench by woodworkerscott titled needed bench. I would like to know what type of wood. I am not up to speed on the drawers, so they need not be made.
just looking for information about this particular bench so I can reproduce it to build something , rather than working on the floor so so long. Is this enough to get my info.
I'm not sure why you are asking about the type of wood. You can make your bench out of whatever wood you want or have access to. A lot of guys use either maple or white oak for the bench top and use a different wood for the base. Some use the same wood all the way through. There are plenty of great benches out there made from lots of different species of wood. if you're looking for the plans, that's a different story. There are a couple of excellent books available about designing/building benches.
