First visit to the Grizzly showroom in Bellingham and walked out with a GO540 Grizzly Horizontal Boring Machine,
anyone else have one of these or may have used one, that could pass on any suggestion or tips? Have used larger machines but for my small home shop thought this should work okay. Had a real good look at all there Band saws but still cannot decide?

Let us know how this machine works out! Searched the Laguna machine, but do not find it for sale on Amazon or Rockler, don't know other Laguna dealers. The Laguna site does not have pricing. Looks like it has been a few years since the posts on SMC were done, maybe Laguna has improved the machine some more? Or maybe it is not selling? A slot mortiser looks like a very usable tool to me, Id be interested if guys are having good luck with a machine.

Rad,

I too visited the Bellingham store about two weeks ago. I'm curious how you found their customer service? I was not impressed. I spent a good 20 minutes in the store, with several opportunities for salespersons to acknowledge me. They behaved like "zombies." I like Grizzly equipment, and will brobably buy my next tablesaw from them, but…

I liked the service, approached about 2 min's into the store, told them just looking and no one bothered me as I played with all the toys, went to the desk and told them what I wanted, took my money told me to go to door 12 to pick up machine, backed the truck to door rang bell, door opened and crate sitting at the door. They loaded it with the fork lift and then unloaded because the box was about an inch to tall so they whacked off the skids. Made it home today(long drive) so will off load it tomorrow and maybe assemble?
Was impressed by all the tools, and looked real hard at there Band saws, almost took the GO513X2 home but space was limited and wallet empty, maybe next month?

I like the X - Y table, a little light duty but for my needs should be okay, plus 120V which for me is great as I have limited 220V in the shop. Hope to assemble tomorrow and maybe test her out !

Couple of bottles of duty free need sampling so I should a least try one?
