My family is safe. Lots of broken glass and every shelf pretty much contents down…but overall our house seems okay…our water lines to water heater cracked and water leaking a bit…gas shut off…very low water pressure with cracjed mains…
we did evacuate for an hour because a house on next street collapsed and gas line was ruptured with strong spray sound…but they got it shut off…we are now home.
we have no power so you guys are seeing more then me.
Will post picts later…
GOD BLESS. ..hope all my Napa LJ neighbors are safe.
Good to hear you're safe. Lots of fires out there due to gas leaks. Seems like the major structural damage is on the light side so there shouldn't be too many people trapped under debris. I'm at work watching the news with one of my fellow firefighters. We are both on the Missouri FEMA Urban search and rescue task force. Rest assured there are many well trained teams like ours in your area. We are one of only a few in the central US, but there are 7 in California alone due to the increased risk of earthquakes.
Glad you came through relatively safely! Over here in Petaluma it woke me up but didn't get to the "oh crap, I have to do something about it" level, and Charlene slept through it.
Is a reminder that I should have a pair of Vise Grips (and the other shut-off tools) more accessible than "out in the shop".
Dammit man, I am glad to hear y'all are OK. I wasn't aware of an earthquake until I some some blurbs on FaceBook. I haven't seen any news coverage yet. Good luck in your recovery.
Thanks everyone…its been a couple exhausting days cleaning house and classrooms…I finally got a chance to breath tonight--and so many are not there yet…but taking a bit of time to breath we walked downtown and got shocked…
I posted photos of my house, class and downtown napa in a new forum here: Napa Earthquake 2
