I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the Craftsman 10'' 21900 benchtop drill press? http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921900000P?keyword=drill+press
I find myself in need of one and it's on sale, in budget, and in town. I will mainly be using it to brand, but i'm sure I'll find other uses for it. Does one really need the floor model? Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!
Hey Larry
I've not had that great of luck with Sears products but lots of others swear by them. I would guess there better than harbor freight and you can return it if you don't like it, Sears is good that way.
my daughter has the 12 inch and she loves it very smooth. little if any runout at the chuck
i dont know if the 10 inch is the same ours was a damaged box so we got it for 109.00
she has had it for about 3 months now so fare so good
I just bought this same model last year and so far it's been fine. The fence is really awkward to use so I would suggest making your own but other than that I haven't had any problems. I don't use it a lot, so this one made sense as opposed to a larger, higher quality floor model. I also got it on sale which did make the decision much easier. Hope this helps a bit, good luck!
I have a 1952 model floor style that is a beast. Solid and accurate. Paid very little for it in a liquidation sale. Look for an old used one. It'll be a bunch more solid.
