If I have inside corners that are hard to get to a lot of times I’ll use painters tape
as a precautionary measure to insure that the glue doesn’t get on the places that
I don’t want. You can take it off when the glue is still wet or later when it’s cured.
When I’m edge gluing boards I wait till the glue has partly cured then I just use a
chisel to sort of peel the glue of. No water involved so no smearing the glue into the wood.
