I did the best I could with the budget I had. 500 bucks. I got a 1hp 10”impeller Craftex CX unit, it claims 820 CFMs. I have a veritas cyclone lid on a 55 gal plastic drum, and a 3-21ft dustright hose to connect to all of my machines. I built custom ports to all of my machines so that I don’t have to bend at all to hook anything up. I also don’t have any 90s or Ts. The few spots where I couldn’t get around that sort of stuff I used 45s and Ys. Also, where I needed flex, I used high end smooth walled stuff. I also use my shop vac as an auxiliary system, for when Im targeting 2 spots at once like on the router or belt sander.

I did a lot of research on here, and pretty much concluded that I couldn’t afford what Id call true DC. That needs 3-5 horses, 15” impeller and 6” ducts. Thats way out of my budget. Argument could be I could have built a homemade unit, and someday I may, but I wanted a machine, with a warranty, that I KNEW would work.
