You can also use a heat gun to soften the PVC then insert the fitting. As the PVC cools it will shrink and make a snug connection. Check out this tutorial on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKkMM_b_Mc8
Using this technique you can make custom bends too. It allows you to really stretch out those 90’s and 45’s or any angle in between to reduce lose of CFM’s. The applications are only limited by your imagination.
