+1 on SC. but they make that same saw in a CI unit. any reason for comparing a CI 715 to a granite 35990? the cab mounted trunions are nice but wouldn’t be a deal breaker. if you’re not in a rush, SC has had annual sale for the last two years that provide what appear to be good values. here’s their last sale flyer:

one thing to be aware of is that some of their TSs mate the extension wings to the tops at th emmiter slots and i’ve seen a couple of owners have issues with getting the extension wings attached to the top so the miter slot is the same width over it’s entire length. this has cause a couple of users to have issues getting the miter gauges to slide easily along the length of the miter slot. the issues were addresses by SC tech support as the issue was owner assembly related.

-- there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.
