It is 28 degrees outside so going out to my uninsulated shop would be torture. No problem, I'll just smooth out parts of my end table inside, watch college football and test out our new vacuum cleaner ;)

No worries, the vacuum worked like a charm and she won't be able to tell! Looks like I won't be getting coal for Christmas lol

It's 7 degrees outside here in Colorado right now, and I've been working in my unheated garage for the last few hours. Takes dedication, I guess, though it really does suck. Might be time to work on insulating and heating the shop… been meaning to do so for years. Or I could just work in my spare bedroom and make a mess like you :) ... at least it would be warmer. I hate sanding in my house though, tracking dust all over the place.

I work in a carport that's attached to the house, so I have two walls and two open air sides. It's in the mid 20s right now and expected to be in the teens tonight. Working out there last night I had to work in fairly short bursts to let my hands warm up. I'm thinking about moving the damn fire pit into the car port and just hope the shavings don't get set ablaze!

MaroonGoon, I've got a little 12×16 shop I've recently had built. It's uninsulated and I need an extension cord to bring power to it when I'm out there for the one 4-bulb shop light and little ceramic space heater. The heater does a pretty good job of making it tolerable in the short term and if I'm out there for a long period of time, it eventually gets to the point where I can be comfortable without my jacket on. I didn't do any sealing or anything and the door has to stay cracked open because of the cord, so your space might benefit from this even more than mine. Anyway, just something to think about.

When it is that cold it is best to go about 500 miles south and look for a place to work. If that doesn't do it do like I am doing….sit in front of the fireplace. LOL I think that was a mistake to get that wood dust in the carpet. What I would call a serious mistake. I have been married 45 years to the same sweet lady and I have tried most of it and learned a few things. This isn't good my friend.

Yep, ohhh the weather in Texas. So unpredictable! Haha

My shop is very similar to yours ninja and I actually have a space heater but my dad took it to his deer lease therefore I found myself on the living room floor lol there was some good college football on though so that was another excuse to work inside. Now I need to apply Danish oil to all of it, but I doubt I will be able to get away with that as easily :-/

She'll know somethings up when she sees you vacuumed the floor. I assembled an armoire on our dining room table years ago before I had a shop, my wife never noticed. Not !! I just promised her I'd build her something nice one day when I was caught up on my work. It's been about 20 years and I'll keep that promise someday.
