I went out to the garage this morning and sanded a piece with 60 grit, planed the top and bottom faces and then made a cut with the miter saw…no real fragrance that I could tell. Just smells like wood, so I guess rosewood is out.

The first pictures are the face and end grain under fluorescent lights with the camera flash; the second were taken outside…it’s pretty overcast but I think the colors look more accurate in the second set.

The scoring is from the 24T blade on the miter saw, guess I need to sharpen.
