It’s normal and if you file it, it defeats the purpose of a zci.
Using hearing protection when sawing is the ideal solution.

@Shawn, how did it launch at you? The leecraft ones have a pin at the back to prevent that and shop made zci’s should have a nail or something like that installed to prevent what happened.
