Hi everybody,

Yes, I meant shorten the rails on the fence. My 56” fence requires an outfeed table for support, so the footprint, left to right, is about 72” for the entire table top.

I’m thinking if I shorten it to 36” I wouldn’t have to have an outfeed table (I could mount an addition angle iron), and moving the saw on wheels would be easier to accomplish.

Of course a second idea is to shift the front angle iron and tube LEFT 18” or so, even past the left edge, and re-mount a measuring tape to the rail. Heck, half the time I use a measuring tape or ruler to set the fence anyway!

I may try that first. Then I don’t have to buy or but anything except a new measuring tape. And maybe a small angle iron for the back of the saw to support the fence to the right.
