I would say it depends on how much time and money you have. if you have a lot of time on your hands like i do it might be worth it to buy this and tinker with it but if you dont have much time it may be worth your while to save up and buy a better one. I paid $100 for my worthless craftsman jointer and I definitely regret it. it can flatten boards fine but even with brand new blades on it the jointer doesnt give me a very smooth edge at all. typically i would joint a board then turn around and run it through my radial saw after to get rid of the missing chunks.
