There is nothing wrong with your plan as long as you can afford to loose all the conditioned air. Don’t know where you are located so air temperature is unknown.

Thein is ok, but a good drop out box is just about as good and does not reduce your pressure capacity as much.

I assume you are keeping the bag on the DC so the stock 5 micron bag is perfectly fine for outside venting.

If you have any vented gas appliances in your shop, like a water heater for instance, you must provide make-up air to replace what you vent outside, or you run the rise of back draft and carbon monoxide poisioning.

A good alternate solution is to put the collector, and Thein or dropout box in the outside room/closet/shed and have the room air tight. Then provide a screened vent outside and a filtered vent back into the shop. then provide a way to close off one or the other of these vents. In mild weather you vent outside. In cold or hot weather you vent back into the shop. In this case I’d replace the bag with a cartridge filter.
