Do you have it under your 10-340? not yet. but when i start doing projects that invoolve more BS use, i’ll get the woodcraft base ( on sale) as it’s a far superior base to anything from HTC. In the reviews it seems some people made the base larger that the base of the machine. Did you do that? no, and i won’t when i make the change. it won’t hurt when it comes to stability during movement, but it’s not necessary but i need to minimize the size of the base so it fits where i keep it. Some people went larger than 3/4” plywood for the base. Is that necessary? when i make the change, i will go with doubled 3/4” plywood for a stronger base i’ll bolt the saw to the plywood for stability. Is that extra 3/4” a problem? i had to raise the saw on the current (really disappointing) HTC base to get the lower door to open without obstruction from the base’s rail. no problem whatsoever. hope this helps. BTW, i put the delta version of the rockler base under a refurbished unisaw. it functioned, but the single pivoting caster did create some situations of instability. that instability could create issues with a saw that’s 3+’ taller. -- there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it. |
