Oil deepens color. Several coats days apart may be needed
as the oil soaks in and thoroughly colors the wood. CA
topcoats and allows a gloss film.

You need to level the finish after it is dried using scrapers and
wet/dry sandpaper to eliminate bumps and runs, then sand
and buff it to a point where the scratches are not discernible
to the naked eye.

You can get buffing wheels and compounds for guitar
finishes from Luthiers Mercantile.

You’ll need to fill the pores of the wood to achieve a glassy
finish in any case.
