good advice so far. all i’ll add is that, if a HD can be found that will honor harbor freight’s “20 (now sometimes 25)% off any single item” coupon, some buyers have gotten a ridgid 4512 for as little as $375. provided the unit purchased doesn’t have the blade elevation changing alignment issue, the saw offers a lot of value (even at lit’s list price of $500). 1.5hp dual voltage TEFC motor, integrated mobile base, riving knife, 30” rip capacity, 90 day satisfaction guaranty, 3 year new tool guaranty and LSA eligibility (owner registration required. free parts and labor on repairs for life). just something else to consider, given the price of the CL saw noted by the OP.
