Spanish cedar is traditional choice for interior lining. You will find several ways to humidify, many suppliers out there. You will probably want a high quality hygrometer. The box obviously need to be air tight. They are a bit tricky to bring to the proper humidity level, then keep it there. Keep in mind 100 stogies probably don't come too cheap, it will be good to make triple sure of the functionality before loading it up.

I doubt he wants them crammed into a smallish box, they come in a box usually 15-25 cigars. Tightly packed. I have seen larger humidors made to fit a coffee table top that held about 50-60 comfortably and with access to each group or however they are divided. Think minature gun cabinet with the exception that this must be kept at a certain humidity to keep the cigars fresh. A stale cigar tastes and smells like burning paper, those that smoke know trust me on this. (laughing)

Well I guess since the OP didn't clarify much in his post I guess were just guessing. LOL.

Many thanks to all, you guys always have the answer, or at least a way to get there from here.. After more dialogue with my friend, he wants it to stand up inside his closet. Has a walk in closet and wants it on the back wall.. He is talking like 78"tall by 50"wide by 14" deep.. couple drawers on the bottom..Who knows, everybody wants something until they find out how much the materials cost.. Thanks again all… Papa

Why am I not surprised on the size????? (laughing)

78"tall by 50"wide by 14" deep, a freaking gun cabinet…..

I would admit to being envious though, would not mind having that kind of inventory, my selection would improve while my wallet melted….

He probably wants to keep boxes of cigars, not just individual ones. The tricky part is maintaining proper humidity so if you can make compartments so that opening one door doesn't flood the entire case with new air that would be beneficial.
