MrRon, I also come across many times as less than affable. Some have even called me a curmudgeon, (ask my wife).
I never mean to, but sometimes my humor doesn’t come across or comes across as criticism.

I only want to enlighten the recipient to an alternate way of doing something or get the point across that one way may not be better than another.

Sometimes my thought processes don’t work correctly, possibly due to a rough time growing up or maybe a couple of head injuries, so what I type out doesn’t look like it comes from an educated person. That is far from the reality.
When I’m working in the shop, the wood and the machines talk to me, letting me know what is going to work and what isn’t usually. Trying to convey that to someone via the gift of the internet for me is difficult and frustrating.

Keep posting, keep being abrasive. sometimes microns do matter in wood working, sometimes expansion matters in metal work…..
