Well, I couldn’t wait. I was teetering on an ROS but pulled the trigger tonight.

I got the Craftsman Professional 3amp 5” var. spd.

List price was $59.
Craftsman Club price was $54 so I signed up
By signing up I got a coupon for $10 off $50
AND I had a $5 gift card

For those keeping score I got it for $39. For the three or 4 pieces/year I do I’m sure this sander will be fine. I ordered the 50 sheet mirka assortment from amazon to start off.

BUT, what I was wanting to do was just buff a little birch plywood storage box I finished. After the 2nd day after waxing the minwax felt much better. Then I folded a tshirt scrap to 3 layers thick and put it on the sander.

I’m sure my eye for finishes isn’t on the level of many veterans around here but I was pretty surprise at the results.

Real nice and at least worth trying again-
