James, you fail to see my point, and I fail to see why it’s so difficult to see my point.

I’ll repeat, though, that I can’t imagine how knowing who financially supports this site would in any way change the way I use this site. I answered your question in my previous post.

The impact of knowing the identity of this site’s supporters (paid sponsors) seems obvious to me. Right now I have an order (online) ready to submit to Klingspor for consumables (a couple of TS blades, a resaw blade, glue, etc). The prices of those items is pretty consistent among online retailers. My order could just as easily be placed with 5 or 6 other retailers. If I learned that Highland, for example, is a sponsor and Klingspor is not, my order might be submitted to Highland instead of Klingspor.

In my experience an organization identifies to its patrons (in this case, jocks) those who are paid sponsors. And sponsors like being publicly acknowledged/thanked for their support.
