Keep an eye on local auctions. A heavy duty Delta 42” sold at auction for $400 last week. I bought my heavy duty Delta Rockwell lath at auction for $450 3 years ago and sold my light duty lath at auction. Any one can go to an auction. Even if you buy a lath with a weak motor you can install a bigger motor. I took out a 1 hp motor that came with my lath and replaced it with a 2 hp and changed all the bearings to high speed sealed bearings. Three years later still no problems and I do some big turnings.
