McMaster-Carr in Chicago has all sorts of disc springs. Page 3577 of the catalog lists “High-Carbon Steel Finger Disc Springs”. They are shown as being used against bearings to reduce noise, end play, and skidding wear on parts rotating at high speed. You have to buy a pack of ten, but most sizes are about $1.00 a piece. You can use two, keep a set of spares, and sell the rest to other LJs. Hopefully they have an appropriate size. If not then the wave type springs do exactly the same job and they have a large selection of them. EVERYONE should have a McMaster-Carr catalog. >3,600 pages of great stuff. They give fantastic turn around on orders. By the way, the finger disc springs are on the LAST page of the catalog. Thank goodness for the index! I would have been flipping pages all day looking on my own. Oh! They are certain to have the pulley key you need as well, although I didn’t look that one up. |
