Not All people that die can have organs harvested. Best case for donating organs is to be brain dead with the ability to be kept of life support (vegetative state or minimal brain activity). The body quickly degrades after death. I have been three years waiting on the kidney transplant list. Many more years to go before I may get the gift of life.
