I prefer buying used equipment. There are so many people who purchase excellent machinery and never use it. You can typically try it before you buy it, you pay a fraction of retail price and there’s NO sales tax. And the sellers typically throw in extra blades, push sticks, wood, extension tables, .....And, if you don’t like it you can likely sell it for what you paid.

I have my saw preferences just like the other people in this thread. But after reading thousands of comments I’ve come to the conclusion that most people are happy with their saws regardless of brand/type. The saw you purchase will most likely fill your needs. If it doesn’t, you’ll sell it and get a different one. It’s not that big of deal in the long run if you don’t happen to get the perfect saw on your first purchase (especially if you get a used saw).
