Here are the riving knife and resulting required blade specifications for the riving knife on my R4512. I’m not sure if all R4512 are the same, or how close the RK actually is to what’s printed on it, so check the one on your saw. However, I think it’s safe to say that 0.079” kerf will be way too thin for the stock RK. I had a couple times when it felt like my rip was hanging up on the RK, and the blade at the time was 0.094” kerf (the minimum allowable). Fortunately that’s my combination blade. My ripping blade is 0.098”.

Anyhow, here’s what’s on the riving knifefe:

RK Thickness .090” (2.3mm)

and on the other side:

Blade Body .060” – .086” (1.5mm – 2.2mm)
Blade Kerf .094” – .126” (2.4mm – 3.2mm)
