Did you ask them if could tailstock send back to them for repair? If have a local welding -machine shop in your area they may be able to help you.

I still think some penetrating oil and using knock out bar or proper size punch will let knock out the live center and free up tailstock mechanism. Either squirt or spray oil let soak, try to eject or tap out live center with knock out bar or punch. Simply remove hand wheel and locking handle to get oil in there.

When this happened to me on my old Delta, remember removing the hand wheel and tailstock locking handle to get oil in there. Used knock out bar to dislodge live center. Did not have a hollow live center on old Delta but do on Jet.

Culprit for me was over tightening tailstock to hold wood. Not only did that jam up the tailstock had to use lot of force to remove drive centers from headstock. Your next turning project should be a mallet to assist you with mild force.
