I believe he means to get the cutter head to the same speed using the 1725 rpm motor as the 3450 (3 phase) rpm motor turned it

right that is exactly what I mean. It has a nurlled infeed roller so in softer wood you have to take 1/16” pass to remove the marks. when I am hoging rough lumber I generally take 1/8 to 3/16 a pass with my 12” belsaw. right now I am taking some 9/4×10” x 18’ oak boards down to 1 1/2 for some counter top an 1/8 of an inch is all it wants to cut at 10”wide.
