The desk is being built for a specific spot in the house where they have a small cove between two walls, so the desk has to be 24” x 43” to fit in the area. I originally designed the desk without the slide out, but his wife wants it changed to include a drawer, keyboard slide out, and the lower shelf for the tower.
This is the third phone call for a revision to the design, so I have stopped after cutting the leg blanks to rough dimensions. I am waiting until they sign off on the final design before I go any further. I plan on using the tilt / hinge front slides for the keyboard shelf so it will look like a regular apron when closed.
The original plan was for a solid wood top, but I have made two options for them, and the second is with a plywood top trimmed in oak. allowing me to hide the dado. This sure has turned into a lot of work..LOL
