Help identifying small bar clamps and my discovery for refurbishing them

I have two pairs, bought used at different places.

The smaller ones say "W. Germany" on the movable arm and open to 6". The others have no nothing, but are of similar design and equal quality. Eight inch capacity. I'd like to know the brand name of both.

I keep two near the tablesaw fence for adding a sacrificial piece when necessary, and two on top of my little bench drill press for clamping auxiliary and sacrificial blocks on the table.

The smaller ones weren't grabbing well. I discovered I could refile the slots in the bar. I'm including an image of that process. No big deal, it's just something which surprised me with its simplicity and efficacy.

Unfortunately I can't identify brands for your clamps, but a couple of notes: 1) I deepen the grab ridges on my clamps by using a flat cold chisel - seems faster and produces a very aggressive bite, and 2) for TS fence board clamps, here are two that I made using 1/4" bolts (heads cut off) and washer wing nuts:

So….these two sets are clearly from different mfrs. Which set most resembles Bessey? (I don't own any, at least not that I know of…yet….)

The handle profiles and lengths are slightly different, and the castings are clearly different.

Thanks for the help.

Lee, I took a look at some very similar ones I have, some are off shore, one is a German one "STABIL"
but it's name is cast in raised leters in the top jaw, all of them have the same red handles and black jaws but he stabil has the red plastic cap on the ends, the others are clear.
Think maybe the market got flooded with a whole bunch of look alikes at some point ?
They all work for me, haven't had the issue of slippage on them, some others will get the bar touchups being suggested above . (always a pleasure to get tips along with the identity searches ;)

There are several like those hanging on my rack. Some are stamped "Germany" others are "China".
Got them at several different times and all from yard sales. I'm sure none cost more than a buck each. None have the plastic protectors. At one time or another I've had to deepen the ridges on all of them.
In use, I cannot discern any difference between them.
