Lotsaglue, Based on your criteria you may want to check the desk I built for my wife in my projects. The top is not as heavy as you are proposing although it could be done with a heavy top. The desk has been in service more than a year now and LOML likes it very much still. I can tell because she brags on it. The desk is about 6 ft. Long and 22” deep and red oak.
