Scott is correct. If you currently are using a Stanley blade, and you have the mouth set close for fine shavings, the thicker hock blade may run into the front edge of the mouth, dulling it before you even use it. Be careful the first time you insert the Hock blade to make sure this doesn’t happen. If it appears it will hit, loosen the frog screws and back it up some. Realize you can set the frog behind the rear edge of the mouth opening, because the bevel of the iron will still allow the cutting edge to clear.
