I seem to remember this particular saw having endemic issues with blade locking and tilting mechanisms.
I’d personally keep looking.
I think a late model Craftsman 113 with a T2 fence is a better saw. I see 113s on CL all the time for $100ish and the fence can be had for $160ish. Parts and accessories are plentiful and cheap.
To be clear, I think the (late model) 113 is a better choice than the Hitachi. But not necessarily better than the (later models) of the Ridgid 4512 or Craftsman 21833. I stress “later models” because earlier productions of those saws had uncorrectable blade alignment issues- making them useless.
