I have seem this wood turn color with a slight greenish tone but mostly reddish when newly cut and exposed to oxygen, not sure about the green color you are describing. Different spices of wood develop patina faster then others, you could try sealing the wood after working it with a sealing oil like walnut and linseed or a lite wash coat of shellac(1/2 lb cut).

FYI: This wood is very toxic, it can exude a white, poisonous substance when freshly cut. When burned it can give off noxious fumes. The poisonous stuff is applied to arrow-tips by indigenous tribes. Wash you hands after working with this stuff and don’t rub your eyes.
