Thanks Jim, that was a fun video. It’s the first time I’ve seen or heard about knocking on trees to determine their density and grain direction. I bought a book; Green Woodwork by Mike Abbot a few years ago and learned many of the things shown in this video. I mainly used the skills to split logs and it was quite a revelation to me how easy it is to work with wet wood. I highly recommend the aforementioned book and it is still available on Amazon.com (although a quick search showed it to be pretty high priced).
