I lay the cord to the extension cord across the belts. It is a way to: 1) keep the cord off the floor, so i don’t trip over it, and :2) shows me that the saw is unplugged.

If you have an Ohm meter, check the switch to see IF the contacts are working right. Might the area where the power is getting “stopped” at.
