An excellent tool, but you need to have a lot of use to justify the price. If you’re serious about woodworking; do a lot of projects which require this type of joinery; then, it’s a great purchase. If you’re a hobbyist who occasionally builds fine furniture (and you don’t want to do biscuits or pocket joints), then the price/functionality equation is quite different. There are several tangible advantages – the tenon is narrower than a biscuit, and can be used in many more places; it’s significantly stronger, and can be used in a precise environment. Again, you need to use this tool a lot for it to be more than ‘nice-to-have’. -- Lead By Example; Make a Difference |
