I stopped using hut wax sticks did not see any improvement to finished pen. CA is a simple and easy finish to apply. Have never had any problems applying a CA finish. Surprised so many folks do have problems with it. Check out “finishing thread,” over at IAP. Not sure CA, is anymore durable than any other finishing material.

I have used friction finishes Crystal Coat, and film building finishes Shellac, Wipe on Poly, and Lacquer. I stopped using CA, as a finish after becoming sensitized to the stuff. Would like to try General Finishes “waterborne Turners finish or other waterborne products.
