Agreed! I would like to know the general area of where somebody is writing from, and I feel more friendly with those who do not seem to be hiding or paranoid. It takes just a moment to enter a city or state.

I have been made to feel more welcome here at LJ than any forum I’ve ever been on. Even got PMs from fellow members when I disappeared for a while… not once, but a few times. That is the nature of this forum… friendly.

A simple matter of letting fellow members know where you’re writing from – just a general geographical location – is a small way of making one’s self a part of the community.
