Im looking for a 6" dado set but not really wanting to shell out over $100.00 for something that will only see occasional use. I have found several new old stock sets on eBay in the $30.00 range shipped. Craftsman Kromedge thin rim satin cut, Rockwell 34-344, etc. Does anyone have an opinion on these? Hobby use for personal projects on a refurbished Craftsman 103.22450 saw. Worth the money or a waste?

I spin a Craftsman 6" Dado set. ON a #113, Emerson/Craftsman 10" saw. I used to spin a Vermont/American 6" Dado set as well. Nowadays, the two kind of blend together. Both sets were in the $25 range. The V/A I have used for over 20 yrs. Got the Craftsman to replace the worn out outside blades. I kept ALL the chippers, though. Both sets were just steel blades, non-carbide.

I'd stick with a decent quality carbide tipped stack. Freud, CMT, Oshlun, Avenger each have decent sets for < $100. The new Irwin Marples series might have an affordable offering too.

Holbren's got the Oshlun for < $70 "BT310" discount code for 10% off. ($6 s/h….free s/h < $75 if you want to add another item)

well, a good friend that is much more experienced than I suggested that I skip the dado for now and improve my router skills. To say I am a rookie is an understatement. I just got my first real project ready for finish. So for now I think I will heed his advice. If I change my mind I will just save my clams till I can buy a decent quality blade.

i got a cheap wobble dado WAY back, used it once or twice, and it has me reaching for the router instead ever since.
