Lac dye is used in dying of wool and silk, soft drink formulation, pill coating, confectionary and
chocolate coating.

That is without a doubt the most information I’ve ever read on the subject of lac.

It is a major industry, but then again it would have to be, for the amount of lac it takes to refine the quantities of Shellac used worldwide annually and that is just one of the many products with a lac dirivitive.

An amazing account of lac.
