Hello Vipond, these hinges are Italian. Have a look: http://www.sepa-hinges.com/
The ones you have are not made of brass, they are casted and coated to look like brass. They are also very brittle and sensitive for not being perfectly aligned. At the website you will see that these hinges nowadays are rounded instead of almost being square. Reason is that you use a router today instead of a chisel. They are probably of better quality today.

I am restoring a furniture from 1955 with the same hinges you have, any chance of letting me by yours?
