I have a couple of the old Bessey cabinet clamps and about 16 of the Jorgensen version. Both work fine but the Jorgensen clamps are much heavier and have a larger beam so they are stronger. However, I don’t have anything longer than 48” and I haven’t used any of the newer Bessey cabinet clamps.

It should be noted that cabinet clamps are not heavy duty bar clamps and aren’t designed to apply extreme pressure. They do a great job of clamping square under light to medium pressure. If tons of pressure are required, it would be better to get proper bar clamps instead.

One thing that annoys me regarding Bessey is that while they make some of the best clamps, they are also willing to put their brand on several shoddy products. I’ve seen and used some of their plastic spring clamps and they would break just from opening the jaw up all the way. That’s a surefire way to ruin the reputation of even their high end products.
