I’m pretty sure the main difference is the 2hp runs on 220V and the 1 1/2”hp is 110V.

The EVS feature is sweet on this lathe, though, with large turnings the 1 1/2hp unit can bog down in a heavy cut. I haven’t used the 2hp to notice any difference.

Bed extension should be the same.
