Lot of folks recommend this grinder because comes with white friable wheeks. If live near a Woodcraft store might be worth a look. If can make an instore purchase without lot of time fine.

Feel same way about in store purchase of Porter Cable, or other brand grinder. Never know today if going to get a good grinder until out of the box and running. If all grinder needs is wheels trued okay, if other problems take it back for exchange or refund. No matter where or what grinder buy get a diamond wheel dresser at same time.

For friable AL wheels shop sales.

I do not care if grinder rpm is slow or fast either will blue your tools if do not know what you are doing. Been using a 6”, 3400 RPM, 1/3 HP grinder for almost twenty years to sharpen my lathe tools. Until that grinder dies not in the market for a grinder. I would like an 8” grinder because most come with 1” wide wheels. Think Harbor Freight 8” grinder come with ¾” wide wheels, not sure why.
