Posted on Cutting lid off round box

So after some thought I decided to make the round first and then tape it to a vertical surface to cut the lid. Since I had to take the round off and turn it over to make the second pass, it did not come out super even but a few passes through the planer and some sanding has the top and bottom evened up again. So the spice box will be 2-3/8” thick instead of 2-1/2” thick, oh well! :)

Here is my setup to cut the lid. I used carpet tape to hold the round.
