Is this piece indoors or outdoors? I do copper sculpture on occasion and for anything indoors, I get the patina I want and then spray it with lacquer. That pretty much stops any further changes. If it’s outdoors, all bets are off. Wax won’t stop the weathering and anything you DO put on it will wear off. Mother nature is a tough taskmaster. You can slow it down considerably outside by spraying with an automotive clear lacquer, but eventually it’s going to weather.

I have some gun treatment I was going to try but haven’t done a copper piece to try it on yet. :)
