I’m in the habit of spritzing saw blades every time they come off the saw, and router bits after every use.

The cleaning stuff is kept handy. It’s a solvent in a spray bottle, toothbrush, five gallon bucket lid for blades, and a recycled pill bottle and yogurt cup for router bits. The bits get the bearings lubed, and both get a spritz of DriCote before they go back in the drawer or on the saw.

This way, I never actually allocate “blade cleaning” time, as they’re always clean. While I’m using my dado or specialty blade, the blade is cleaning itself. My personal favorite cleaner, after about trying about 20 different formulas, is the CMT orange stuff.

I know everyone always says “old toothbrush” for stuff like this, but I have no problem buying a cheap new one… ;^)
