I think I have my answers, but I have also learned to use full terminology and to provide specific details.
I can see how things can get confusing. I will be French cleating this cabinet to the wall about 10 in off the floor.

The perimter strip is a great idea., that was another concern. I may place a granite counter top on top of the existing surface top so this will work.

I really want to thank you for your help as this gives me a go ahead for my project….:)
