My turning so far has not included bowls, but from what I’ve seen and read, you have 2 options: seal the ends now and let it dry or rough turn the bowls, then let them dry, then finish them. Perhaps cut the big piece into smaller blanks, seal those and let them dry? You know, if it was me, I’d go for a hybrid approach. Seal some of it and rough turn some of it. That way you’d know which approach worked best for you. Good luck!
